In my teen years, I read volume after volume of fantasy and science fiction, sometimes so quickly the book just went into the soup of my subconscious, and I couldn't even tell you if I read it.<BR/><BR/>But, I am very thankful for my years studying literary fiction, both analysis and writing. And I think writing poetry was the most valuable contribution to my fiction. Then, also was the playwriting. And the creative non fiction.<BR/><BR/>When I was 15 I wanted to write Fantasy books. Now at 38, I have finally come back around to SF and Fantasy, and that is what I am writing. I think the intervening years will serve me well.
